2011 Championship

For those who enjoy the challenge of competitive events, the EWGA offers members the opportunity to compete in a series of tournaments, culminating with the EWGA National Championship.  These tournaments are structured to allow golfers of all skill levels to play against those with similar skill levels.  The tournament begins with the Chapter Championship, held at a local host course in the Huntsville area.  Winners of the various Chapter Championships move on to compete in their District's "Semi-Final" Championship. Winners from the 15 District Championships have the opportunity to play in the National Championship.

The EWGA Huntsville Chapter will hold its annual Chapter Championship event at
Cherokee Ridge Golf Course
July 9, 2011
Tee Times begin at 12:00 pm

In the competition classes there are four flights of competitors, each determined by handicaps, plus a competitive scramble team. Our Chapter has been fortunate that we have had representation by our members in the Semi and National competitions for several years now.  To compete, a golfer must have an established handicap. For our event, all scores posted through the end of May are used to determine level of competition by handicap score.

We are also encouraging our members who don’t wish to compete to come out and play a fun scramble – no handicap required – and to cheer on the ladies who will move on to the semi-finals.  The cost of the fun scramble is $65.00, which includes golf cart, green fees, and buffet lunch served on the patio afterwards.
